This pendant is patterned after the Inca Cross or Chakana which can be seen in all aspects of Inca life and culture. To create this piece, the metal work is carefully laid out and then the bright stones are cut and shaped to fit exactly inside the framework. It takes a skilled and careful Bolivian had to get it just right.
