Everyday objects elevated to a magical level beyond the real world - this is the art of John Arbuckle. "I am passionate about light and shadow and the sensuous nature of objects and their relationships to each other. I also explore the idea of abstraction within reality when in the process of painting. It has been said that my work is very Zen, which I strive for in my art. The goal of my work is to slow the viewer down and take them to a quiet place away from the madness of day-to-day life."

John studied at the New York School of Visual Arts and received his B.F.A. in painting and printmaking from Pratt Institute, New York. He's exhibited throughout the United States over the past 34 years, and has works in many private and public collections, including the Brooklyn Museum of Art, Kaiser Permanente, Exxon Corporation and Lloyds of London. He has also received numerous awards including Art of California Discovery Awards (Gold and Silver).
