Enric Rubió was born in Girona, Spain, in the region of Spain called Catalonia. Today, the region has undergone an incredible Renaissance of figurative painting, a movement in which Rubió is at the forefront.

Rubió’s almost heart-stoppingly beautiful paintings focus on his native Catalonian countryside. His work often depicts ancient villages and farms through a modern lens.

Classically trained as a realist in Italy at the Academie Statale di Belle Arti di Frosinene, Rubió also has an MFA from the Academy of Art of Olot in Spain. In addition, he is the General Director of the School of Art of Anglés in Girona, Spain. Today he lives and works in Catalonia.
