Photography Education:

Oakland Community College – Originally attended for a course of study in Art/Commercial Art.  Required class courses included some basic Photography and Darkroom.  Fell in Love with it, and took the fork in the road.

Photography Experience: 

Worked many years as a microfilm specialist, not very creative, however it allowed for more exposure (no pun intended) to the technical side of lights, cameras and darkroom work.  Creative photography was put on hold and my mainstay at pictures for some 20 years was relegated to family snapshots at the holidays and family vacations.   A recent spark has now thrown me back into the lair of the sleeping dragon and I'm trapped in the creative abyss once again.

Photographic Passions:   

Sunrise & Sunsets- Although shot probably a million times each and every day, for some reason each location, weather and photographic spin, gives it a new twist.  Just like music that has only so many notes, it’s how you arrange the endless combination of those notes that makes each song different and portrays a different feeling or mood.  The same holds true to each and every glorious sunrise and sunset.

Photographic Guidelines: 

Always be ready.  Make sure you have some type of camera with you at all times, be it mobile phone or a pocket camera or your “He-Manâ€ÂA? stuff.  You never know when the opportunity will be placed in front of you.  Many scenes can be staged, however in my brief experience; I find my best captures have been on the spur of the moment.
