I live with an avid gardener.  My husband experiments with exotic and domestic land and water plants.  Although it is tempting to take perfect specimens into the studio to photograph under ideal conditions, I record them in their natural surroundings, a visual record of their interaction with the environment that surrounds them. 

This is my first major color portfolio in many years.  I shoot with a medium format 6 x 7 Mamiya camera, scan the film and print it digitally with archival ink on beautiful photo rag paper.  I am entranced with the way that the saturated colors sink into this paper.  It is a two dimensional interpretation of the unusual and commonplace sculptural shapes and colors interacting within the context of our garden and pond.
