Two Autographed CDs and an Autographed reproduction of a 1967 Psychedelic Poster from the Whiskey A-Go-Go by the one and only Country Joe McDonald!!!
Country Joe McDonald and his band Country Joe and The Fish, along with Jefferson Airplane, Quicksilver Messenger Service, the Grateful Dead, and Janis Joplin and Big Brother and the Holding Company, were the pivotal musical artists of the 1960's Haight Ashbury psychedelic era. Country Joe and his band played at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967 and at Woodstock -and you can find their live performances on DVDs of those festivals. In fact, Country Joe's solo performance at Woodstock remains one of the phenomenal highlights of the Woodstock documentary. Country Joe and the Fish's satirical "I Feel Like I'm Fixing to Die Rag" was unquestionably the anthem of the Vietnam War protest movement and you'd be hard pressed to find anybody over the age of 60 who doesn't know the lyrics to that song by heart.
Country Joe McDonald has been described as a a modern day Woody Guthrie and his music ranges from early acid rock to pure rock and roll, country, folk and blues.
This is a wonderful auction item from one of America's most important and influential musicians and song writers.
