Custom-built rod especially for the CFR Spring Auction 2011 by rodmaker Dennis Harper of Harper Custom Rods.

This is a medium-fast action, 9'0", 4-piece, 4-weight fly rod. The lightweight blank is a Five Rivers Signature V, made from 60 million modulus graphite which is very sensitive, easy to cast, and generates very fast line speeds. 

The components, which were selected to maximize rod performance include a lightweight silicon carbide insert tip-top, light wire snake guides, and a silicon carbide insert stripper guide.

The western-style grip and reel seat feature spalted, Afzelia burl sap wood, Amboyna burl, Horn, and pre-banned ivory(CITES Treaty). The butt section is highlighted by a multi-layered feather inlay featuring feathers from the Amherst pheasant, Peacock pheasant, and Jungle cock.
