Gladiators Against Breast Cancer was created by Connie Wirz of Anchorage, Alaska. She donated this very special piece for the “Foundations for Recovery” show in Anchorage last October, and we thought it was just special enough to showcase it for CFR's national auction.

The bra is tastefully adorned with a multitude of costume jewelry, giving it a feminine “gladiator” look. While the bra could be worn, we have a vision for it as a conversation piece in a home or office.  It’s exquisite!

Foundations for Recovery is compiled of photographs from the first two years (2009 and 2010) of the outreach/art show of the same name. The bras were donated by talented artists to help CFR-Alaska bring awareness to the public about what Casting For Recovery does for breast cancer survivors. Each page features two bras and the biographies of the artists who created them. It’s an eye-catching, fun conversation piece for any home or office, or as a gift for any woman somehow connected to breast cancer.

 The inscription facing the title page reads, “Dedicated to every person battling or recovering from breast cancer.”
