Connecting their study of China and their work in art class, the third graders made hanging and hand scrolls. This hanging scroll, painted with traditional brushes and ink on a yellow background, was inspired by the image Woods and Valleys of Mount Yu (1372, Ni Zan). Each third grader painted part of the scene and then added his or her individual chop, or signature stamp, to the image.
