Description

Looking for an extreme civics lesson for your budding politician? Explore Springfield, Illinois from a legislator's perspective!

Your visit will include a trip to the new Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, the Old State Capital where Abraham Lincoln served, and a personal tour of the Illinois State Capitol from a State legislator. Then join Rep. Feigenholtz at a committee hearing to see how bills travel through committees and to the House floor, where you will spend an afternoon working on the House floor as a page.

This package is available for students from 3rd to 8th grade. It requires a parent to accompany the child to Springfield. Parents/siblings are welcome to join the student on every tour, however, access to the House Floor is restricted to the one child who will serve as the House page. No parent or guardian can accompany them to the House floor, but instead can view them from the gallery above.

Appropriate dress is required.

Contact Rep. Feigenholtz's office to determine date.
