Description

Barbara Alden Campbell studied painting and art history under Beatrice Whitney van Ress and focused on life drawing, sculpture, and art history at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts School. Her work has been shown at the Copley Society of Boston and The Sharon Arts Center.  She focuses predominantly on New England scenery - painting a plein aire.  The coastal scenes of Maine have been a mojor interest for the past eight years.  She catches glimpses of rural New England maritime life and the inland countryside.  Mrs. Campbell's landscapes and seascapes are impressionist in color and form evoking the mood of rural coastal life and the narural beauty found there.
