This piece by a Stanton Silversmith right here in Stonington bear the script initials M.J.B.  Extremely rare, this is a silver spoon made in the first quarter of the 19th century by Zebulon Stanton, whose silver-smithing brothers perished at the Battle of Groton Heights. His home and shop at 83 Main Street, Stonington.
