Located on a peninsula jutting into Lake Erie, Cedar Point is one of the most popular amusement park and vacation destinations in the country.

For starters, Cedar Point has more rides than any park in the world, an unmatched assortment of thrilling coasters and family favorites. It also offers a variety of award-winning live shows, themed children’s areas, special attractions, eateries serving sumptuous meals and treats and gift shops offering a wide array of souvenirs and memorabilia. Plus, Snoopy and the Gang visit the park every day!

For the 13th consecutive year, Cedar Point was named the “Best Amusement Park in the World” in the annual poll conducted by Amusement Today, an international amusement industry publication. Cedar Point is the only park to be the recipient of this highly coveted award. The 310-foot-tall Millennium Force roller coaster was also selected as the “Best Steel Roller Coaster in the World!”

For added fun, Soak City, an 18-acre outdoor water park, and the Challenge Park activity complex that features miniature golf, go-kart tracks and the thrilling RipCord skycoaster are right next door.

Offering a variety of guest accommodations, Cedar Point is the perfect destination for a family vacation or getaway weekend. Guests can choose between beautiful and convenient beachfront properties overlooking Lake Erie and a sandy beach and cottages, cabins and luxury RV campsites that are just a stroll away from the park. It also has a year-round indoor waterpark resort, RV campground and two marinas.

This summer, Cedar Point will celebrate its 141st anniversary. It first opened in 1870.

New for 2011!

New this summer will be WindSeeker, a thrilling 301-foot-tall swing ride located on the Cedar Point Beach that will spin riders in open two-passenger swings with their feet dangling in the breeze!

At a cost of $5 million to build, WindSeeker will provide breathtaking views as riders spin nearly 30 stories above Cedar Point, Lake Erie and the Cedar Point Beach.

World-renowned for its gourmet hot dogs, chili dogs, onion rings and fresh toppings, Pink’s Hot Dogs, a Hollywood legend for more than 70 years, will open its first franchise east of Las Vegas on the Cedar Point Midway.

In September, the park will hold HalloWeekends XV, its annual fall festival of fun and frights, while the Revolution3 Triathlon featuring full- and half-distance races will be held for the second consecutive year. A week later, PointFest, a Christian music concert, will return for the third year.

Roller Coasters

Featuring four world-record-setting roller coasters, including Millennium Force and the 420-foot-tall Top Thrill Dragster, the world’s first 40-story coaster, Cedar Point is internationally known for its vast collection of coasters. With 17 coasters, Cedar Point provides a full day of excitement for coaster-riders of all types. Thrill-seekers flock to the twisting Maverick that opened in 2007 and the Magnum XL-200, while everyone enjoys a ride on the Iron Dragon suspended coaster and the Cedar Creek Mine Ride. For younger guests, Woodstock Express and Jr. Gemini offer an exciting coaster ride designed specifically for them.

This summer, three of the park’s popular coasters will celebrate special anniversaries. The Mantis, the tallest stand-up roller coaster in the world when it opened in 1996, will celebrate its 15th anniversary, while 20 years ago, the 161-foot-tall Mean Streak was the world’s tallest wooden coaster when it was introduced in 1991.

Celebrating its 35th anniversary, the Corkscrew opened in 1976 and was the first triple-looping roller coaster in the world.
