Special Instructions
The design represents the mythical figure Gonakadeit of the Tlingit peoples (and most other coast peoples where it is known by differing names), a figure said to bring wealth and fortune. It is a standard image that can be seen on many old carved bent-wood boxes and chests in museum collections. There are slight and intentional variations in the design from side to side.
This design is also made from two to six feet high.
