Description
I've made a few of these hats and they prove to be a magnet for compliments, so I wanted to make one for this auction.
The wheel pattern on top uses the Scottish fair-isle tam technique - it's fun to calculate the number of spokes I want and then see what happens with the colors and decreases.
The motif on the sides is from an Andean-style hat pattern.
It's knit with "Brown Sheep" brand 100% wool. There are so many colors, I find what they do together quite exciting.
The alternating colors are twisted in back of the work as I go, so it is a comfortably dense fabric, no yarn-floats to catch on your hair clips, and nice enough looking to wear inside out if desired.
It is light but cozy - mine just got me smoothly through the recent record European cold wave.
