Description

Art therapy is a form of expressive therapy based on the belief that the creative process of art is both healing and life-enhancing.  Art therapists provide a variety of art materials such as paint, chalk, markers, clay, collage materials, etc; using their skills in evaluation and psychotherapy, they choose materials and interventions appropriate to their clients’ needs and design sessions to achieve therapeutic goals and objectives. The created images are helpful in communicating issues, emotions and conflict that becomes significant in enhancing verbal exchange between the person and the therapist. This process helps clients increase insight and judgment, cope better with stress, work through traumatic experiences, increase cognitive abilities, have better relationships with family and friends, and to just be able to enjoy the life-affirming pleasures of the creative experience.

These 2 sessions of art therapy are recommended for any age  person or population, including family sessions. They could provide valuable help for someone who is:

*Re-visioning their life, setting goals

*Celebrating a passage: birthday, marriage, divorce, graduation,    menopause

*Exploring a transition or crossroad

*Mourning a loss

*Investigating an important dream

*Resolving a conflict
