WXXI is proud to welcome back featured artist Laura Wilder! Her painting titled 'Lamberton Conservatory, Centennial 1911-2011 celebrates one of Rochester's own botanical jewels. Laura's magnificent painting captures the magic that is beneath the conservatory's glass dome. The layers of lush exotic foliage, delicate blossoms in hot tropical colors, and a cool waterfall splashing into a quiet pond create a dramatic, enchanting spell. Laura's unique and award-winning style is inspired by the great poster makers of then and now. After working as an art director, graphic designer and advertising illustrator, Laura Wilder left the commercial art world to start her own business, creating beautiful handmade prints and paintings.
