Description

"The Grandeur of Crown Point" by artist Nan Helms

14" x 18" print.

Historic vista house at Crown Point sits high atop a 14.5 million year old basalt flow in Oregon's Columbia River Gorge.  The structure was completed in 1918 as a rest stop for travelers' along the Historic Highway and remains on of Oregon's top scenic attractions.

Nan says:

My depiction of this magnificent structure takes us backto the year 1926.  Period travelers watch two elegant red-tailed hawks soar high above the river as the sunlight casts a brilliant glow on the Vista House!
