These replica statues are produced from the computer file made by electronically scanning the prototype for the 500ft/152m Maitreya Project statue to be built in Kushinagar, in northern India.

These high quality, beautiful statues are made from white resin and professionally finished in a gold coloured coating. They are filled with compassion mantras which are sealed inside the statue. The statues come in a red presentation box that is securely padded. We hope everyone will consider bringing the statues into their homes and spiritual centres, and consider placing them in other appropriate public places, to provide a blessing for everyone who sees them, thus creating the causes for peace, happiness and prosperity.

About the original artwork for the Maitripa Statute:

Maitreya Project sculptors, Denise and Peter Griffin, began work on the life-size prototype for the Maitreya statue, in Taiwan during May 1997. At slightly more than one metre high, this sculpture forms the basis upon which the one hundred and fifty-two metre statue is modelled.

The original artwork utilised the traditional proportions of the Buddha's form (known as Sor, in Tibetan) which have been handed down by successive generations of master Buddhist artists over the centuries.
