Local author JoeAnn Hart will work one-on-one with your college-bound high school senior on how to write a compelling college essay.

Starting with a brain-storming session, JoeAnn will help your senior develop a topic then suggest writing exercises to get the ideas out on paper. At the next session, JoeAnn will read the first draft and make suggestions, exploring options to expand the ideas. Finally, she will go over the finished essay to make sure that the senior has written exactly what she or he has meant to say.

JoeAnn will not write the essay for them!

JoeAnn coordinates the Gloucester High School program that brings writers into the school to read college essays for the seniors, so she is very familiar with the pitfalls and aims of the essay. She also has worked with her own children on their essays, and they all had successful college placements.
