Description

Aonair’s focus is on the production of boutique bold wines primarily sourced from rocky volcanic hillside vineyards. Knowing that there is a direct relationship of quality to quantity, Aonair is dedicated to crafting rich wines from only the best grapes in limited barrel quantities.

The Aonair (ÄA?-ÅA?-nair) label itself originates from an Irish family heritage and Grant Long, Jr.’s desire as an individual owner and winemaker to strike out on a new journey. Aonair Wines are identified by the Coat of Arms of the Hannigan clan which is Grant’s Irish heritage. The word “Aonair” is Gaelic for “one man” reflecting the choice that Grant has made as a sole proprietor in this new project.

Grant built his reputation as an accomplished winemaker and businessman during his partnership at “g” Wine Cellars and his years as Sales and Marketing Director at Reverie Winery on Diamond Mountain. His appreciation for full bodied wines has drawn him to the rocky hillsides and slopes of various wine growing appellation as a source for his flagship wines.

Aonair wines are extremely limited in production and allocated primarily though Wine Club Membership.

This is a Live Event Item.

Tasting Notes for Aonair Reserve Series 2008 Mountains Proprietary Wine

Visually the wines strikingly dark color prepares you for the concentration in this wine.  Deep, dark and intense fruit with “dusty” bakers chocolate, plum and black cherry. Undertones of earth reflect the terrior and origins of these grapes.  The wines mouth feel is round and generous,  silky, polished tannins melt over the pallet with a sweet and supple lasting finish.
