Mark Ellis is the Director of Technology and Communications for the Maine Senate Majority Office. He has worked in the information technology field for 30 years with companies such as Douglas Dynamics, Forster Manufacturing Inc., Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Corp., and Digital Equipment Corporation (now Hewlett-Packard).
Active in Maine politics for many years as a volunteer, Mark was the designer of the first campaign website for a statewide race in Maine.
Mark served as President of the Skating Club of Maine from 2006 to 2010 and continues teaching adults and youngsters as an instructor for the U.S. Figure Skating "Basic Skills" program in central Maine. As a competitive skater, Ellis won a gold medal at the 2005 Champlain Valley Open in Burlington, VT and a bronze medal at the 2006 U.S Figure Skating Adult National Championships in Dallas, TX.
Mark is the adopted son of the late Marvin G. Ellis and Gloria C. Ellis of Zephyrhills, FL (both born in Bangor, Maine). Ellis resides in Augusta, Maine with his wife, Rachel Boucher Ellis. They are the proud parents of three grown children, Quincy Matthew of New York City; Chelsea Marie, of Portland, ME; and Samuel Terence, a student at USM in Gorham.
