Description
Own a piece of Paragon Carousel history! This limited edition "cachet" envelope was created and sold to help purchase the Paragon Carousel in 1995.
This Cachet envelope with its special postmark and four carousel horse stamps, was featured at a fund raising event for the Paragon Carousel that raised $10,000. Held at the Carousel, this Special Cancellation was sponsored by the Friends of the Paragon Carousel, a newly-formed group that organized for the purpose of raising funds to purchase the Carousel. Hundreds of people came from afar to enjoy a weekend of events and show their support. As a result, on November 21, 1995, Judeth Van Hamm, organizer and President of the new non-profit group, signed an agreement to purchase the Paragon Carousel. Only 1,000 envelopes were printed in pale gold and hand cancelled with this special postmark.
This is cachet #38
It's great to know that 16 years later, this envelope is still raising funds to keep the Paragon Carousel spinning on Nantasket Beach for future generations!
