Viola Seul was selected by the MD State Arts Council to receive a 08 Individual Artist Award in Solo Instrumental Performance. This grant, awarded by jury selection every two years, is based upon artistic excellence. In addition, chosen via a privately juried process out of nearly 500 nominees, Viola Seul was recently awarded Baltimore's prestigious 2010 Mary Sawyers Baker Prize. This lucrative non-discretionary award is given to individual artists living and working in the Baltimore region.
