Enter the world of a young boy’s imagination filled with loveable characters, dark villains and unlikely heroes. For anyone who’s ever made a wish, believed in a fantasy or had a dream, journey with us on an epic adventure where a vivid reality and fantasy collide. The Neverending Story, based on the classic German novel and popularized by the iconic film, tells the story of a shy boy named Bastian who is tormented by school bullies and finds solace in a mysterious book. The book’s captivating tale tells of the fictional and far away land Fantastica, which is in grave danger from The Nothing. Follow Bastian, Atreyu the warrior boy, and Falkor the happy Luck Dragon as they travel through the Swamp of Sadness, the cave of a giant spider and the maze of the Southern Oracle to reach the Childlike Empress. Roseneath Theatre of Toronto, Canada has been producing work of the highest quality for young audiences all over the world for over twenty years. The company arrives at the Skirball Center for the U.S. premiere of this production.
This production of The Neverending Story is presented as part of NYUSkirball Center's Big Red Chair Family Series. Recommended for ages 8 and up.
Performances are: March 22th - 25th, 2012 7 pm and March 24th - 25th, 2012 2 pm.
