Suave, sophisticated, rich and concentrated, but remains balanced and polished, with bright blueberry and blackberry flavors supported by toasty, vanilla-scented oak. A modern wine with great structure and harmony. Best after 2005. 1,800 cases made. –TM

2001  Clos Mogador

A Proprietary Blend Dry  Red Table wine from Priorat,Spain

Review by Robert Parker

Wine Advocate # 152 (Apr 2004)
Rating: 98 , Drink 2007 - 2020, Cost: $65

Simply sensational, this inky/purple-colored 2001 boasts gorgeous blueberry and raspberry liqueur characteristics intertwined with crushed stone, lilac, and subtle background espresso/toasty new oak notes. Powerful, concentrated, and multilayered, with tremendous purity and intensity, this prodigious effort is one of the candidates for wine of the vintage in Priorat. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2020.  Importer: a Christopher Cannan Selection, various American importers including Michael Skurnik, Syosset, NY; tel. (516) 677-9300 and Diamond Wine Merchants, Oakland, CA; tel. (510) 567-9897
