Jennifer Jones Rashleigh of Cedian Painting has donated this handmade Striped Bass Pillow.  It’s a limited edition 1 of 4 and is hand detailed, signed and dated. The 2010 original was painted on raw canvas with fabric paint.  This edition is a digital print onto 100% cotton upholstery fabric.  The artist has over-painted certain details with textile pigments.  Painting on top of her original design allows Jennifer to emphasize certain parts of the image, adding color and texture.  Essentially, each print is uniquely hand detailed.  Remarkably, this textile is washable.

 Jennifer is both an artist and art historian.  She constantly toys with the boundary between high art and functional beauty.  The hand painted pillows are one way set gets art off the wall and into peoples’ hands to touch, tussle and contemplate.

 She is an avid fan of PBS!
