Description

Marquetry is defined as the art and craft of applying pieces of veneer to a structure to form decorative patterns, designs or pictures. It’s the technique used by longtime Newport art and antique restorer Stephen Rosasco to create this piece. Wooden inlays of satinwood, ivory, ebony and burls were placed on a panel and the result is this pretty lighthouse scene. The finish is shellac.  It measures 7 1/4" X 9 1/4"
