Description

Delicious Connecticut treats hand chosen by donor Wayne Rosenfield.  Includes a 32 oz. jug of pure Connecticut maple syrup, a 24 oz.bottle of Full Bloom Apiaries local Connecticut honey, and a 13 oz. bag of salt water taffy (yum) from Franklin's General Store in Mystic, CT.

Maple syrup is a product unique to the northern United States and Canada. According to Wayne, the Native American tribes taught the process of harvesting maple sap to the European settlers who, in turn, shared their recipes for waffles. (Wayne has no reference for this information, but it makes a good story).

Special Instructions

Maple sap is harvested in late winter, often while the ground is still covered by snow. The sap is boiled down to varying grades of syrup thickness. This grade of maple syrup is thicker than syrup that is found in supermarkets. Wayne particularly likes it on vanilla ice cream. This is a sweet treat.
