Description
This outstanding Catalina Pottery head vase was designed by Dorr Bothwell. It was made in 1938, after Catalina Island Pottery had closed and leased the molds to another company.
This pretty little head vase was glazed in a very early matte treatment , with the coffee cream glaze that was on the island prior to moving the molds to the mainland.
The artist, Dorr Bothwell was a highly esteemed artist who worked in many mediums and at many establishments. This hard working peasant head vase woman is in excellent condition. Stamped on the bottom Catalina Pottery. She measures 7" high x 5.5" wide.
