Description
The Trail of Painted Ponies are highly collectible because of their artistic detail, bright colors, and unique beauty. Each Pony is different, and each tells a story.
This Painted Pony, by artist C.J. Wells, of New Mexico, depicts Chief Crazy Horse, a legend and hero to his Oglala Lakota people, and to all who read about his fight against the encroachment to his tribal lands and to the Lakota way of life.
The Chief lead the Lakota in the Battle of the Little Big Horn in 1876. As a young man he had a vision of a horseback rider with a lightening bolt zigzagging down his cheek and a turquoise earring in one ear, who looked up to see a hawk flying overhead. His Medicine Man father told him he would achieve greatness in battle, and a lifetime of victories followed.
This Pony measures 7.5" x 6" and comes in it's original box. It's numbered 0684.
