This very unique piece is one of a set of two matching antique cameo portrait wall hangings we have here on auction for you.  They were discovered in an old home in North Carolina, and are in excellent condition.

They are made from solid wood that has been painted an antique white color that has deepened with age, and the cameo portrait is on blue paper and protected by glass.  The backing is of a cardboard like paper.

The portraits appear to be of Greek or Roman women, one with a lion and one with a large bird.

They each measure 28", and the cameo portrait is 9.5" wide. This cameo has a small chip in the paint around the portrait, shown in the photo.  It can easily be retouched with matching paint.
