Balvenie Scotch 14 Year Rum Wood: A limited edition bottling in 2006, The Balvenie RumWood spent its final 18 months of maturation in 14 casks which had previous held rum from Guyana and Venezuela. The Balvenie RumWood was non chill filtered and was bottled at a strength of 47.1% abv. The aroma of The Balvenie RumWood balances rich honeyed fruity notes and candied orange-peel with a hint of oak and a gentle touch of spice. Its taste combines soft toasted oak notes, vanilla, fruits and spice with a tropical sweetness.
McCallum Scotch 12 Year: Nose: Vanilla with hints of ginger, dried fruits, sherry sweetness and wood smoke. Palate: Deliciously smooth, with rich dried fruits and sherry, balanced with wood smoke and spice. Finish: Sweet toffee, dried fruits, lingering wood smoke and spice.
Glenlivet Scotch 12 Year: Nose is full and rich. There is a sweet creamy vanilla with warm pastries and toffee, fudge notes and aniseed. A strong toasty cereal notes emerges with a touch of oak. The palate is quite thick and warm. There is a thick aniseed note with dried peels and fudge. The finish is long and warming.
