Walter is a native of Mount Desert Island, Maine. Having lived here most of his life so far, he is inspired by the beauty of the island and the rugged coast of Maine. He has found watercolors to be his choice of media and has realized that brings him a great deal of joy and peace. Walter has discovered that his works of art also bring a great deal of joy to others who have purchased them. He now forgoes the complications of marketing his work and generously donates his lovely paintings to local nonprofit organizations for their fundraising purposes.

Walter comes from a long line of native Mount Desert Islanders. A 1974 graduate of MDI High School, he has spent most of his adult life in the home construction field. He was taught everything he knows about the business of home construction by Emile St. Germain. He also has worked for other Maine construction companies such as Bond Builders of Bar Harbor and Superior Homes of Bangor. Currently, Walter is the Estate Manager of the W.P. Stewart Estate.
