Take a Sea Kayaking Tour with Strandwood parent, and past ACA Certified Instructor Trainer, Shanna Holden. Have kids? Leave them to play at the beach with complete supervision, entertainment and food!

We will meet at Heart’s Desire Beach in the morning for a power paddle toward the mouth of Tomales Bay.  As we paddle, Shanna can give paddling pointers and critique your stroke to make you the most efficient paddler out there.  We may see bat rays, leopard sharks and a variety of birds; the tule elk in the Point Reyes National Seashore might just race us down the beach! 

We will return for a scrumptious barbeque lunch provided by the McKenna family back at the beach.  There we will catch up with those who chose to lounge and play in the sand.  There will also be little boats for adults and kids to play in at beachside.

After lunch we can paddle (or walk) to the Miwok village just north of Heart’s Desire Beach and see how the Native Miwok built their homes and lived in the area.  We will mosey back, look for moon jellyfish to pick up, watch for egrets and other waterfowl.  We can practice kayak rescues or go on another paddle, depending on the desire of the group.  It is after all, Heart’s Desire!

This is an awesome trip for the whole family.  There are little boats for little people and speedy boats for the intermediate + or smaller paddler.  The more you weigh, the more experience you will need to paddle these nimble boats.  Feel free to ask Shanna for more specifics.  Let’s go paddling!
