The bead artist who made this 2 1/2 inch pin really loved dogs!  She told me that it was difficult to come up with a pattern for an all white dog, such as a bichon, so she used shades of gray and beige to create shadow.  This type of beading is called peyote and is very difficult to accomplish in such a small pattern. The tiny Japanese size 11/0 Miyuki beads are cylindrical and uniform which allows the artist to "paint" with tiny beads.  Pin clasp on the back, however it can easily be used as a Christmas tree ornament, too. New, never used.
