Join Head of School Rob Lake and champion tennis player Erika Smith '81 for a round of doubles at the Claremont Country Club followed by lunch. Erika Smith '81 won two NCS championships for HRS, and was a top junior tennis player in Northern CA and the USA during high school. At Harvard Erika played varsity tennis and ranked All-Ivy and All-Eastern. She played professionally for several years winning a number of doubles titles and reaching round 32 in doubles at the 1988 Australian Open. She ranked as high as 277 in the world for singles and 165 in the world for doubles. After retiring from professional tennis, Erika earned a JD from USF and began her legal career. In 2007, she returned to competitive tennis and began playing senior tournaments. She won 10 national titles in doubles and mixed doubles, was a finalist in 8 other national tournaments in doubles and mixed doubles. She ranked #1in the US for Women's 40+ doubles in 20 08 and 2009 and #1 in the US in the Women's 45+ in doubles for 2009 and 2010. In 2010, Erika won a silver medal at the Senior World Tennis Championships in the Women's 40+ doubles. Erika returned to playing singles in 2010 and ranked #12 in the US for Women's 45+.
