Named after the protagonist in The Catcher in the Rye, the Flatiron space that once housed Vig 27 has recently been repurposed into The Caulfield, a bar with slightly more upscale digs and more lounge-style seating than its former self. Rather than a menu of cheese sandwiches and malted milks, however, this place serves Mexican fare by chef Dominic Giuliano (David Burke's One C.P.S.). Cocktails and the space, as you'd expect, hew classic — there's even a rye-based quaff.
