From spring through December, Old Bethpage recreates the atmosphere of a pre-Civil War Long Island Village, illustrating agricultural, domestic and commercial activities through the actual practice of crafts and skills.

On some 200 acres of rolling hills, more than 55 historic buildings -- all original structures saved from destruction and moved to the site -- provide the setting for costumed interpreters to portray farmers, teachers, storekeepers, blacksmiths, civic leaders, and the others who made up a community of the mid-1800s.
