Description

This captivating piece is 28" x 24" and printed on a dibond composite.  Layers of images and color create a piece of art that literally changes with the slightest shift in light or vantage point.

After 12 years of photographing conventional portrait and commercial images, I have chosen to explore what may exist outside my established boundaries.  What was literal is now more impressionistic, what was exact color tone is now suggestion of palette, what was commissioned and expected is now vague and open to interpretation, what was captured on film is now generated in computer programs for photographic editing.

Throughout my quest for self-expression, there has always been the will to extrapolate something from within and attach it to something with physical presence/identity:  Many of the images have a sense of open landscape, tribal  features, floral pattern or perhaps energy fields.  The working image is a collaboration of different images layered/seamed/fused together to create a finished image that holds design , story, emotion, mystery together as one.  There is a tendency for me to freely drift in the process . I take my cues from whatever seems to fit the moment and if that vague idea can hold my interest then I ride out the visual until it seems self -sustaining.

Special Instructions

What is Dibond? It is the signage industry's leading aluminum composite material. It is comprised of two pre-painted sheets of .012" aluminum with a solid polyethylene core. This medium is excellent for digital printing as well as mounting, it has a superior surface that protects expensive digital and screen printed graphics for damage, plus it does not bow or bend.
