2006 Dry Creek Valley Block 1 Cabernet Sauvignon
*Please note that this bottle is labeled 750 ml on the bottom the label but it is an error and is clearly a Magnum.
The vines of Block 1 run north to south through Arbuckle gravel loam to produce the rich, complex fruit in this Cabernet. The 2006 vintage tolerated cool weather from spring into autumn with all the Cabernet harvested during the final week of October. With this cool growing season we kept the grapes on the vine longer for the flavor compounds in the grape skins to fully develop, producing gorgeously deep color and intense flavor in the wine. Fermentation proceeded into November, with the new wines getting into barrel for malolactic fermentation just before Thanksgiving! Aromas of cardamom, black pepper spice and mocha precede flavors of briar-patch blackberry, cherry and plum, all wrapped in a toasty oak finish. This Cabernet from Block 1 was aged in barrels made by master cooper Alain Fouquet, the same ones he crafts for Chateau Margaux. These were chosen to enhance the Margaux-like qualities of Block 1: seductive aromatics overlying a wine of great structure and ageability.
Ageability: 20 to 25 years.

Pick up/shipping information: At auction close, item will be available for pick up in Sebastopol, CA on the designated pick up days or it can be mailed at the winning bidder’s expense.
Wine is shipped via AIM Mail Center and requires a wine shipper in addition to any shipping and/or insurance charges. The price of a wine shipper for a magnum is $8.15 and the estimated shipping cost for the West Coast is $22 and $29 to the East Coast, actual shipping will be charged at time of shipping. We cannot offer combined shipping on this item.
Wine is shipped “adult signature required” and the delivery must be signed for, it cannot be left without a signature. Mailing/shipping insurance will be added on to the shipping costs. Winning bidder is responsible for all fees and billed at standard industry rates.

If a state is not listed, state law prohibits wine from being shipped there.
