Idyllic!

Review Submitted: October 9, 2011 Date of Stay: August 2011

The setting is picture postcard perfect and the attention to detail in the house is amazing. The house is extremely well appointed both inside and out. It's spacious, immaculately clean with modern appliances and has a wonderful screened porch overlooking the dock, which is perfect for the evenings. During the days it's all about the outdoors. There are two canoes (2 person and 3 person) and a delightful little sunfish sailboat all of which can be sailed right off the dock.
We travelled with family visiting from England that included two boys aged 9 and 11 and there was plenty to keep them occupied from dawn till dusk, in addition to the boating there was a good stock of fishing rods (not to mention a good stock of fish) and a rope swing over the nice warm water of the lake.
If you do tire of cooking on the Weber grill, there are some excellent restaurants just a few minutes drive away.

All in all - it's perfect and we've already booked for next year!

Gorgeous Lakeside House

Review Submitted: July 23, 2011 Date of Stay: June 2011

We truly enjoyed this house. Between the dock, the open-air deck with grill and the screened-in deck, we spent most of the days outdoors. The owner provided (non-motor) boats, floats, plenty of beach towels; as well as a rope swing the kids will never get over! The lovely updated kitchen had everything needed, even for a bunch of guests. Everything was freshly painted and the furniture and beds were very comfortable, with plenty of seating for all. The screened-in deck was very homey and pretty. Waking up to the lake view in the master bedroom was a daily pleasure, and the lake was pretty quiet, with friendly people all around. It was nice for canoeing, sailing, and motor-boating. I probably wouldn't recommend the house for familes with little adventuresome toddlers or very elderly grandparents, due to the proximity to the water and stairs/uneven ground; but for families ages in between, it's a great getaway. It's an easy trip to Sunapee Harbor and hiking. We definitely want to rent this home again!

Updated Lake home

Review Submitted: July 21, 2011 Date of Stay: July 2011

This home was truly a lucky find! The view from the lake from this home was like a postcard. Having coffee every morning from the upstairs porch or the lower deck was just awesome. It is truly a relaxing getaway. You can fish right from the home's dock or take one of the canoes out, the fishing was great! The home is comfortable and clean and has great updates where you need it. Love the full bath downstairs! The owner provides everything you need for a great week. Just bring your clothes and stock the fridge. The view from the new outdoor shower is pretty great too! We explored the area and there seems to be some great locations that you can drive to. Twin lakes was beautiful and had public golf and tennis in a beautiful setting and maybe a 20-25 minute drive. Lake Sunapee is a short car ride away for a change of pace. If you have a jet ski, bring it! The only thing we would change is bringing our own boat to tube or water ski. The lake is great for swimming and any water sport. We were in the car and could get to many larger towns within 20-25 minutes in any direction if you feel like exploring NH. It is a very quiet setting, so if you are looking for privacy and some rest and relaxation, this is the place!
