Description
Large multicolor Kaisa basket. Artisans living in Bogra, five hours outside the capital city of Dhaka, Bangladesh, made your basket using natural fibers. Kaisa is a locally grown grass. The grass is gathered into clusters and twisted and shaped into coils, which are held together with palm leaf fibers. Asheda Bibi learned about Kaisa weaving from her neighbor. Now both women work with Dhaka Handicrafts. With the income she earns, Bibi can send her children to school.
