Description

These beautiful pieces of framed artwork were created by the students and parents in Mrs. Barnett's Kindergarten class! You can bring home this incredible nature artwork... it is sure to be a much-admired and appreciated addition to any home!

The butterflies were recycled from the plastic containers from Pizza Friday.  The containers stored fruits and veggies.  When melted, they act as shrinky dinks. Disha Rami cut the butterflies out of the plastic and the students colored the butterflies with sharpie markers.  A mini lesson was taught by Mrs. Barnett about symmetry and the students worked on creating symmetrical wings for their butterflies.  Mrs. Hoffman brought in her toaster oven and we shrunk the butterflies. John Cunningham created the beautiful 3-D Prairie scene and we attached the butterflies to it.

The students worked on an acrostic poem titled “Butterfly” and signed the back of each picture.  Students 1-10 are in the black framed picture and students 11-20 are in the white framed picture.

This is a Live Event Item.
