Special Instructions

Peg Averill (1949-1993) was a progressive artist and illustrator from New York City. Her art work could be found in many political publications, such as the now defunct WIN Magazine and Liberation News Service's dispatches, and on posters and anti-nuclear movement handbooks of that period. Peg was a veteran of the historic Seabrook anti-nuclear action of 1977 and remained active in the no nukes/safe energy movement through out her career. She was married to Ted Glick, now active in the effort to address the climate crisis. She died unexpectedly of a heart attack on August 7, 1993. Several of her protest posters and banners are now part of the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, DC.
