Welcome to the Buffet Bar & Crock Pot

Pull up a bar stool and make yourself at home. What'll be? A world famous Jumbo? (A full 16 ounces of Coors draft and it's only $2) (Two bucks!)). How about a hot dog with that? They're boiled in beer and come with an assortment of mustards, catsup, freshly chopped onions, sliced jalepeno peppers, relish, sauerkraut -- the works. They're also only $2! (Two bucks!) Wanna impress somebody? We've got quarter pound polish sausages for only three bucks! We serve only Coors and Blue Moon on tap, but we also have a fine selection of other beers; some wine and lots of liquor. We even have beer and liquor to go!

Lemme tell you about the Buffet

The Buffet is called The Buffet because it used to be a buffet. It is located in the Ironhorse District of Old Town Tucson, right near the railroad station, north of the downtown business district and less than a half mile south of the University of Arizona. Railroad employees lived here around the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. After Prohibition was repealed in 1933, the Buffet began serving alcohol and, in 1934, became the Buffet Bar.

The Buffet is located just a couple of blocks from the famed 4th Avenue merchants district. There are a number of bars in the area. In fact, there are over 100 licensed establishments within a half mile radius of the Buffet. But only the Buffet has a dead animal as a mascot, and the fellow featured on the logo keeps a watchful eye on all of our patrons.

We are the largest Coors retailer in the world. We've been written up in Playboy (as Tucson's Best College Bar), Esquire magazine recenly named us one of .The Best Bars in America and we always win the distinction of being Tucson's Best Dive Barin the Tucson Weekly's 'Best of Tucson' edition-- the Conde Nast of local haute cuisine. We also just had a real nice write-up in the Arizona Daily Star.

Food at the Buffet

Hey, it wouldn't be a buffet if we didn't have food. Our friendly and helpful staff are trained and experienced in the fine art of boiling hot dogs. Fresh dogs are boiled in beer all day long in our formerly-almost-state-of-the-art crock pot. We can also toss a polish sausage into the pot and it will be ready in minutes. We proudly serve a fine selection of potato chips, popcorn and pork rinds. They are already bagged, ready to eat and they're only a buck. Untouched by human hands! For fifty cents, you can get a basket of peanuts. Bon appetit!

Any world-class chef will tell you that presentation is everything. And we agree with them! Every hot dog and polish sausage is served on a fresh coffee filter. And we offer several different mustards, some catsup and other fresh condiments to further enhance the dining experience. Consider this: for $10, you can get two Jumbos (remember, those are 16 ounce Coors drafts), two hot dogs, a bag of potato chips and still leave a swell tip for your overworked and underpaid bartender. Where else can you get breakfast for two like that for just $10? You gotta love this place. And for dinner, hey, go for it: same menu but with polish sausages instead of hot dogs. Guaranteed to impress and satisfy.

Happy Minute

Everybody has Happy Hour, and sometimes they drag on for hours and hours. At the Buffet, we get right to the point with Happy Minute. Actually, we have two: At 6:00 p.m. on the dot, you get two-for-one and at 11:00 p.m., on the dot, we give you the best deal around: For one buck, you get one drink just like the one in front of you. (One buck!) Now how's that for a deal?

For the athletically inclined

Great drinks and cheap food do not a dive bar make. We also have a pool table, where games are only a quarter (25 cents!) and a regulation sized shuffleboard table where the games are free! (Free!)
