Bacchus was the Roman counterpart to the Greek Dionysus; he was the god of the grape harvest, winemaking and wine, and ecstasy. He knew how to party.

In 2012, however, we're a bit more refined. The drinking of fine wines is an integral part of today's trend toward gracious living. The right choice of a fine wine enhances many experiences, including delicious, fine food. The purpose of Bacchus - The Minnesota Wine and Food Society is to inform, engage, and guide members to better appreciate wine as a companion to fine foods and by itself. Through a familiarity with wine will come much pleasure and enjoyment.
