Description
Here is a real treat for lovers of the ballet! This gorgeous shadow box contains an autographed 8" x 10" photo and toe shoes, also autographed, of New York City Ballet principal ballerina Wendy Whelan. In addition, this package includes an invitation to be a guest at a working NYC Ballet rehearsal at Lincoln Center.
The shadow box was created for the photo and shoes by Moormann's Galleries, master frame makers since 1963. The generous gilt frame measures 18" wide by 26" long.
Principal dancer Wendy Whelan is known for her angular body and muscularity, particularly suited to the Balanchine style that strongly influences NYCB. She is a luminary of the dance world, and is still going strong - and receiving rave reviews - at the age of 44. The New York City Ballet is one of the foremost dance companies in the world.
Special Instructions
The winner must arrange the date and time for the backstage visit by calling a number provided in the winner's package. On the morning of the agreed-upon date, the bidder will receive instructions regarding where and what time to report to rehearsal.
Because of the size and fragility of this item, it cannot be shipped. The winner must make arrangements to have the shadow box picked up at The Seeing Eye's Morristown, NJ campus.
