Description

On January 20, 2012, the U.S. Post Office released a new 65 cent stamp featuring four different service dogs.  The set of four stamps celebrates the partnership of dogs and people, and depicts four typical jobs of working canines: guide dogs, therapy dogs, tracking dogs and search dogs. Up for auction is a signed, high quality print of the artwork used for the guide dog stamp, a black lab in harness standing at the edge of a curb.  A woman's legs can be seen in the background behind the dog.  Also included is a sheet of the working dog stamps (5 of each type of dog, 20 stamps total), signed by the artist.   Both of these are suitable for framing.

This print measures 8" x 12", the same size as the original artwork.

The stamps feature the  artwork of John M. Thompson, a professor of illustration at Syracuse University's college of Visual and Performing Arts.

Special Instructions

The stamps are 65 cent denomination, which is the price for a single piece of retail first class mail weighing more than 1 ounce,  and up to and including 2 ounces.
