Description
You are bidding on history! In 1979 -- the 50th anniversary of the founding of The Seeing Eye -- a 15-cent "Seeing For Me" stamp was issued. Collected here and preserved in a beautiful black, 7 x 4 inch frame are 4 stamps and a postcard. Designed by illustrator Joseph Csatari, the commemorative stamps say "USA 15c" on the top and "Seeing For Me" on the bottom. The picture on the stamp shows the arm and leg of a man holding the harness of his German shepherd guide dog.
The card bears a picture of a German shepherd in harness. Across the bottom, it reads in black ink, "First Day Of Issue, June 15th, 1979, Morristown, NJ" and has a cancelled “Seeing for Me” stamp in the bottom right hand corner. The bottom left hand corner reads, “The Jockey Hollow Stamp Club”.
